Jimmy And The Soulblazers JIMMY AND THE SOUL BLAZERS
Piazza Stage - Friday 8:30 PM    **FREE**

Jimmy & the Soul Blazers have been performing since the 1960's with such artists as Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, the Ojays, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Three Dog Night, Uriah Heap, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Sly & the Family Stone, James Gang, Jr. Walker and the All Stars, Four Tops, Ray Charles, Frankie Valli, Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels and many more. The band signed a recording contract with MCA in the 70's and released an album and two 45s on Kapp Records. They have continued to tour and perform their high energy, professional show for four decades and recently released a new CD titled It's About Time which includes the Soul Blazer horn section.

Aaron Caruso AARON CARUSO

This Detroit area native has been performing on the stage since he was six years old. He has entertained audiences throughout North America and has opened for such names as The Smothers Brothers, Gary Puckett, The Gaylords, Don Rickles and Johnny Maestro. Aaron recently performed at Carnegie Hall in a sold-out tribute to Mario Lanza. He was chosen by film producer Sonny Grosso and 15 time Grammy winner, Phil Ramone to sing the role of Mario Lanza, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

In addition to extensive vocal training, Aaron has also classically studied piano for ten years and trombone for six. Aaron has performed for Tony Bennett who said to him "You sing like Mario Lanza". Don't miss the passion and romance of Aaron Caruso on stage at our festival.

The members of the group bring vast years of experience performing with such groups as The Ink Spots, Sharptones, The Casuals, The Debonairs, The Drifters, The Coasters and other hot groups.

The Prowlers and Gary Shreve THE PROWLERS
featuring GARY SHREVE as "ELVIS"

The Prowlers are an established Memphis style classic Rock & Roll band from the Akron area. Their audience will be treated to hours of rockin' dance music from the 50s and 60s with a little Blues on the side. Gary Shreve will be performing a very accurate Elvis tribute with the Prowlers on stage for the evening performance. You won't want to miss this spectacular show.

Frank Gallo Show Band THE FRANK GALLO SHOW BAND

Frank Gallo was born and raised in western Pennsylvania. He plays both trumpet and trombone, as well as doing vocals and comedy routines. Noted for versatility in blending Italian and American music, Frank has performed in many of the tri-state ballrooms, as well as Italian Festivals and dances in Pittsburgh, Warren, Youngstown, Wheeling and Indiana, working with performers such as The Gaylords and Johnny Desmond. The Frank Gallo Band gives you a unique blend of Italian music and comedy.


 
Matt Schafer MATT SCHAFER

Matt Schafer began playing the accordion at age seven and at thirteen began playing professionally with his father's band in the greater Akron area. At age twenty-six, Matt joined America's Polka King, Frank Yankovic, traveling throughout the United States and Canada.

In 1977, he formed his own band, and has been performing in the greater Akron-Canton area. Matt has served as president of the A.B.C. Polka Association and hosts a Saturday morning radio program on WZIP FM Akron, Ohio.
